Joetex Asamoah Frimpong

Joe Tex Frimpong, actually Kwabena Asamoah Frimpong Joseph, ( born April 17, 1982 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player. He plays the position of striker.

Career

Frimpong moved at a young age from Ghana to Nigeria and began his career as a football player. He subsequently played for different teams, before joining top club Enyimba FC for season 2003. With Enyimba he won the 2003 and 2004 CAF Champions League, scoring as many hits that today is top scorer in the competition. He was elected to the most important players in the Nigerian League in 2005. He then worked in Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

For the season 2006/ 07 Frimpong moved to Switzerland for BSC Young Boys. Here he scored in his debut in the Super League two hits, but was injured badly in the second game. 1 September 2008 to 30 June 2009 Frimpong played on loan for FC Luzern. In the 2009/10 season he returned for now back to the Young Boys, but changed again from mid-August on loan to FC Luzern. The FC Zurich borrowed from Frimpong for the preliminary round of the 2012/13 season from FC Grenchen.

In 2010, Frimpong founded a football academy in Minna. There, young talents are encouraged and trained to become professional football players.

National

Joe Tex was mistakenly nominated for the cadres of the U-23 national football team of Nigeria, as Ghanaians but deleted again.

He was nominated for the cadres of the Ghanaian national team for the African Cup in 2006, but could not compete due to injury. His first goal for Ghana, he scored on 7 February 2007 in a friendly against Nigeria.

Private

His two brothers, Eric and Daniel also play professional football. Eric plays since 2009 in Tunisia, inter alia, for Étoile du Sahel, Daniel plays in the Nigeria Premier League for Wikki Tourists since autumn 2012.
