Joey Styles

Joseph Carmine Bonsignore (* 14 July 1971 in Bronx, New York) is an American journalist of Italian descent and former commentator for the WWE. He is best known, however, under his ring name Joey Styles. Bosnignore is married and has one daughter.

Career

Before Bonsignore came to NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling, he worked for the magazine Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Making its debut ECW still belonged to the umbrella organization National Wrestling Alliance. During the entire time, from the name change to Extreme Championship Wrestling until its bankruptcy, he was consistently commentator. He was known for his exclamation " Oh my God " (Eng.: Oh my God ), which he always used when something dangerous ( " extreme " ) happened.

From the ECW Barely Legal big event that was first held on April 13, 1997 Bonsignore was the sole commentator. 2001 ECW went bankrupt and he was for a time without employment. After 18 months break Bonsignore occurred in the wrestling promotion Xtreme Pro Wrestling. This, however, he left after just one month, and now went to Major League Wrestling, where he was color commentator. Before Bonsignore signed his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, he was co-owner of the wrestling news site 1wrestling.com and operating autonomously a wrestling hotline.

On June 10, 2005 Bonsignore commented on the ECW reunion event Hardcore Homecoming, hosted by Shane Douglas. Two days later (12 June 2005) he was color commentator of the first ECW One Night Stands, which was hosted by WWE. His former counterpart was Mick Foley.

After he signed a five-year contract, he was from November 1, 2005, the WWE Taboo Tuesday event, commentator for the WWE RAW main show, replacing Jim Ross alongside Jerry Lawler and Jonathan Coachman. On 1 May 2006 he left again RAW.

As of June 11, 2006 Bonsignore commented back ECW, which was a roster of the WWE now, on the side of Tazz. In April 2008, replaced by Mike Adamle. Since then, Bonsignore is as "Director of Digital Media Content" main person responsible for the website of the WWE.
