John Cater

John Edward Cater ( born January 17, 1932 in Hendon, London, England; † 21 March 2009) was a British actor.

Life

Cater was filed by his parents at the age of four years at a dance school. During the Second World War he was evacuated to Devon. After his education he attended from 1948 the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art His acting training, he had to stop because of his military service in the Royal Army Educational Corps. After graduating, he was engaged at the Dundee Repertory Theatre, Dundee. In 1961 he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. From the 1960s Cater has appeared in numerous television productions, including guest roles in series such as The Avengers and melon, Doctor Who, Department S and The Foxes. In addition, he played 1976-1977 one of the lead roles in the series The Hotel on Duke Street. The German-speaking public, he would be known best by his portrayal of Thomas in repeated each year at Christmas time television film Little Lord Fauntleroy alongside Alec Guinness and Ricky Schroder. He also played on the side of Vincent Price in the two horror films The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes The Return of the Superintendent Waverley. Most recently, he was, among other things in the science fiction movie Alien Autopsy - to see the All to make friends as well as in a guest role in the crime series Midsomer Murders.

Since 1963 he was married to actress Wendy Gifford, from the marriage were born two daughters.
