Department S is a British crime drama series that was produced 1969-1970 in two seasons. It was discontinued in favor of its successor series Jason King.

Action

Department S is stationed in Paris, internationally operating division of Interpol. It is entrusted with particularly mysterious cases that could not be solved by other police or intelligence services. Head of the department is Sir Curtis Seretse; his team consists of the American Stewart Sullivan, the British computer specialist Annabelle Hurst and also the British Playboy Jason King, who incidentally is successful as a writer of detective novels.

In guest roles occurred among others Lois Maxwell, Anthony Hopkins, Jean Marsh, Richard Vernon and David Prowse.

Background

The series was conceived by Dennis Spooner and Monty Berman and produced by ITC Entertainment, which was responsible among other things for the Serial Number 6, The Two and Simon Templar. She sat next to the unusual circumstances, to lead actor Jason King. Due to the great popularity of the character the audience Department S was discontinued in favor of a new, based solely on King, serial.

2009, both seasons of Koch Media on DVD were released.

The British New Wave band named themselves Department S based on the series.

Synchronization

The German synchronization was written after the dialogue books by Karl Heinz Briinnemann (season 1) and Rainer Brandt ( Season 2 ). Briinnemann also led dialogue director. It was equipped similarly to the two with puns; in the first season but still very decent.
