John Jobst

John Jobst SAC (English John Jobst ) ( born February 4, 1920 in Frankenberg (municipality Brennberg ) ) is Emeritus Bishop of Broome.

Life

John Jobst joined the Congregation of the SAC and the Bishop of Limburg, Wilhelm Kempf, consecrated him on 9 July 1950 to the priest.

John XXIII. appointed him on 13 January 1959, Vicar Apostolic of Kimberley in Western Australia and Titular Bishop of Pitanae. The Apostolic Delegate to Australia, Romolo Carboni, consecrated him on March 19 of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Ottone Raible SAC, Vicar Apostolic Emeritus of Kimberley in Western Australia, and James Patrick Carroll, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney. He participated in all sessions of the Second Vatican Council. Paul VI. rose on June 7, 1966, the Apostolic Vicariate of the Diocese and thus Jobst became the first Bishop of Broome.

On 3 November 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
