John Karlen

John Karlen ( born May 28, 1933, New York City, New York), actually John Adam Karlewicz, is an American actor.

Life

Karlen had 1958 first roles in U.S. TV series. He achieved fame in 1967 in his role as Willie Loomis in the ABC vampire soap opera Dark Shadows. Until 1971, he was in 182 episodes of the series, in which he played the part of other people. He also acted in the 1970 rotated based on the feature film series with The castle of the vampires. Following the end of the series he starred in several horror films, as well as guest roles in various series formats. In 1982, he received a minor role in the crime series Cagney & Lacey, he played in 108 episodes until the end of the series and for which he was honored in 1986 with the Emmy Award. In the 1990s, he repeated this role in some series specials.

Between 1959 and 1965 he appeared in several Broadway productions, including 1963 in Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.

Karlen is divorced and has a son.
