John Layfield

John Charles Layfield ( born November 29, 1966 in Sweetwater, Texas, United States), better known by his ring name John " Bradshaw " Layfield or JBL, is a former American professional wrestler, currently designated as ring commentator for the shows of the WWE under contract stands.

Layfields greatest achievement was the preservation of the WWE Champion title in 2004.

In addition to wrestling Layfield has also become known as a stock market expert and appears regularly on the Fox News Channel as an expert on. In addition, he wrote a best-selling book on the subject and works casually as a radio presenter on Talk Radio Network. On this fact rests the gimmick of John " Bradshaw " Layfield.

Biography

Life outside of wrestling

Prior to his wrestling career Layfield was football player for Abilene Christian University. He also played for the Los Angeles Raiders, and the San Antonio Riders and then became a member of the "All - American Team". He was elected twice as the "Best Blocker".

On 11 February 2005, he married Meredith Whitney, who is employed as an analyst at the Fox News Channel.

Layfield was also active as a financial broker. About his success as a speculator, he has written a book ( "Have more money now" ), in which he gives tips for newcomers investments and market strategies.

Through his work at the stock exchange Layfield fumgierte first with the Fox News Channel and later on CNBC as a conservative analyst. His involvement in the media but he pissed away in 2004 in his role as a wrestler. As part of a tour hosted the wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment in Munich. The time as a wrestler

In the spring of 1996 he joined the WWF as a long-haired and bearded cowboy Justin Hawk Bradshaw, but this gimmick was dropped back at the end of the same year. In 1997 he formed with Barry Windham the Tag Team New Blackjacks, which also was not long. The next year Layfield played only two "big" matches, one of them at No Way Out against Jeff Jarrett.

From 1999 to 2004 formed Layfield with Ron Simmons a tag team under the name "The Acolytes ". Layfield was with Simmons repeated Tag Team Champion and her gimmick evolved into hard-drinking pub thugs who offered their services in the Acolytes Protection Agency ( APA) for more and more money. The abbreviation was eventually also the team name and the orientation they kept until 2004 when. However, Layfield was allowed to gain in this period, among other things the WWE European Championship and the WWE Hardcore Championship. 2002 came shortly after Wrestlemania in the division of the wrestlers in various shows for the separation of the Acolytes. In the big event Great American Bash 2004 JBL Eddie Guerrero could defeat and thus get the WWE Championship.

Layfield was allowed to keep the title relatively long and denied during this time feud programs with the Undertaker, Booker T., Kurt Angle and Big Show. Layfield had to leave in 2005 at Wrestlemania 21 John Cena again the title eventually.

After some back matches he was a year later at WrestleMania 22 secure the WWE United States Championship against Chris Benoit, this was, however, a little later on Bobby Lashley again. After Layfield had denied another program feud against Rey Mysterio, he stepped tentatively back from active affairs.

A short time later he took from Tazz as a commentator on Smackdown because it moved to ECW. Layfield was on SmackDown as color commentator working ( commentators, received not only the ring events, but the stories about ).

Return as an active wrestler to Raw

In the big event " WWE Armageddon" on 16 December 2007, he reached back into the active ring action a, which developed a feud with Chris Jericho program. After Jerry Lawler real suffered a heart attack in an edition of RAW, Layfield first came back as soon as commentator on RAW and Pay-Per- Views. Since the SmackDown show from October 5, 2012 Layfield can be seen on the side of Josh Matthews on Smackdown and listen. In November 2012, he announced that he has re- signed a contract with WWE as a permanent commentator.
