WWF European Championship
The WWE European Championship ( WWE Championship German Europe ) was a wrestling title WWE. The title, which was then called WWF European Championship, was awarded for the first time on February 26, 1997 in Berlin, The British Bulldog, who defeated his brother Owen Hart in a tournament final.
Since the WWF judgment, the WWE may no longer use the acronym " WWF ". Hence the title in 2002 was renamed the WWE European Championship.
On 22 July 2002, the title at the WWE RAW show was combined with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The former Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam defeated on 22 July 2002 the European Champion Jeff Hardy. He united both titles for Intercontinental Championship and was thus the last title holder. As in Wrestling common practice was the award after a predetermined storyline.
