John Perry (bishop)

John Freeman Perry ( born June 15, 1935) was a bishop of the Anglican Church.

Life and career

Perry was taught in schools Mill Hill and St John's College, Nottingham.

After his appointment as chaplain of the Christian church in Woking, he was appointed vicar in Chorleywood and then to the Rural Dean in Rickmansworth.

In the years 1989 to 1996 Perry was Bishop of Southampton and thereafter to 2003 Bishop of Chelmsford. As such, he was from 2000 to 2003 as a spiritual Lord Member of the House of Lords.
