John Sivebæk

John Sivebæk ( born October 25, 1961 in Vejle ) is a Danish former football player.

Career

Sivebæk began his career with his hometown club Vejle BK. In 1981 he took his first title and won the Danish Cup. In 1984, he won for the first time a championship. A year after the title, he moved to England to Manchester United. After only two seasons, it went further south to France for AS Saint- Étienne. After four years in Saint- Étienne, he dabbled in Monaco at AS Monaco, also in the French league. Then went Sivebæks way to Italy to Pescara Calcio. After eight years abroad, the full-back went in 1994 to return home Denmark and played back at Vejle BK. After a season with the rest of the club he hung two on at Aarhus GF, where he could still win a Danish Cup. Here he finished his career.

His international debut was Sivebæk on 5 May 1982 with a friendly match against Sweden in Copenhagen (1:1). More 86 matches to follow, but he scored a goal and this at the World Cup qualifier against Ireland in 1986. He participated in the European Championships in 1984 in France part where Denmark came into the semifinals, where he was employed three times. He also took part in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, where the Danes were eliminated in the second round. Sivebæk was used twice. He also attended the 1988 European Championship in Germany in part ( Eliminated in the group stage ), where he has also been used twice. His biggest success at the international level reached Sivebæk at the European Championships in Sweden in 1992, when he became European Champion with Denmark. It was used in five games and got a yellow card.
