John V, Duke of Mecklenburg

Johann V. von Mecklenburg (* 1418, † between November 1, 1442 and January 13, 1443 ) was from 1436 to 1442, Duke of Mecklenburg.

John V of Mecklenburg was born the son of the Mecklenburg Duke John IV and Catherine of Saxe-Lauenburg.

He ruled after the death of his father and Albrecht V, initially under regency of his mother Catherine, from 1436 IV with his brother Heinrich

On September 17, 1436 he married Anna of Pomerania -Stettin († after the May 14, 1447 ), the daughter of Casimir V of Pomerania -Stettin. He was probably buried in the Doberan Minster.
