John Williams (archer)

John Chester Williams ( born September 12, 1953 in Crane, Pennsylvania ) is an American archer.

Williams first international success was the second place in singles at the world championships in archery 1969. 1971 he won both the Individual World Championship as well, along with Edwin Eliason and Larry Smith, the World Team Championship. He confirmed this success the following year by winning the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Munich.

In 1976 he wrote an archery textbook, Archery for beginners.

In his hometown of John Williams Avenue was named after him.
