John Zaritsky
John Zaritsky (* 1943 in St. Catharines, Ontario ) is a Canadian screenwriter, director and film producer.
Life
Zaritsky studied at the University of Toronto and subsequently worked as a newspaper reporter. In 1970 he received a grant from the Ford Foundation to study at the Washington Journalism Center. For his directorial debut A student has disappeared, where he served as a producer, he in 1983 was awarded an Oscar. Three years later he received a Genie Award, the most important film award in Canada for Tears Are Not Enough. Between 2005 and 2008 he was nominated three times for a Gemini Award, of which he was able to win the award twice.
His documentary Right to Die? , Who has active euthanasia on the subject, 2008 caused an international sensation.
