Jolof Empire
Jolof was an empire in West Africa in the area of the present state Senegal.
The kingdom Jolof, also written as Dyolof or Wolof, was founded by the Wolof ethnic group, they are still living in the region. The capital was Linguère, about 245 kilometers northeast located east of the current Senegalese capital Dakar. Today it is little known about the early time, except that it will operate direct trade with the Mali Empire or a vassal state of Mali was.
