Jon Amiel

Jon Amiel ( born May 20, 1948 in London) is a British- American film director and film producer.

Life

Amiel studied English at Cambridge University, he was a member of the Oxford and Cambridge Shakespeare Company. Later he worked as a director for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

In the 1970s and 1980s Amiel worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation. In 1985, he directed the acclaimed film The Silent Twins. The comedy Queen of Hearts in 1989 won awards at the Montreal World Film Festival and at the Paris Film Festival.

Since 1990, Amiel works in the USA. As a director of Sommersby Amiel worked with Jodie Foster and Richard Gere, as a director of Agent Null Null Nix ( The Man Who Knew Too Little) with Bill Murray. In the film Entrapment ( Entrapment ) from 1999 played Catherine Zeta -Jones and Sean Connery with, in the film The Core - The inner core of 2003 among other Hilary Swank.

After that led Jon Amiel directed several TV series, including The Tudors with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. In 2009, with Creation again a feature-length film directed by Amiel in the cinemas.
