Jon Polito
Jon Polito ( born December 29, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor.
Life and work
The Italian -born Jon Polito grew up in Philadelphia. He later received a scholarship at the private Catholic Villanova University where he studied theater. From there, he tried to gain a foothold in the New York theaters. His career as a stage actor, soon led him to Broadway, where he starred, among others, in the theater productions of American Buffalo and on the side of Faye Dunaway in Curse of an Aching Heart. On the Off-Broadway Jon Polito played with, among others, on the side of Sigourney Weaver in the play Gemini.
After Jon Polito had then played mostly theater, he gave in 1981 with the American television film Until the last shot his television and in 1982 with American Killing his feature film debut. Since then, he has often been busy in feature films and television productions as a gangster or a policeman. He was, for example, for solid ensemble cast of the cop shows Homicide and Crime Story.

Jon Polito played in five films ( Miller 's Crossing, Barton Fink, Hudsucker - Der große Sprung, The Big Lebowski, The Man Who Was not There) by the Coen brothers.
A hallmark of him was a long time be darker, thinner and almost line-like mustache.
