Jörgen Windahl

Jörgen Windahl ( born March 12, 1963 in Danderyd ) is a former Swedish tennis player.

Life

Windahl won 1981 junior tournament of the Australian Open and was the year after the national Swedish tennis champion. He was then a professional tennis player and played in the following years mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour. After he had failed several times in the semi-finals, he won the individual title of the Challenger tournament in Bucharest in 1986. In the same year he won the ATP tournament from Geneva on the side of Andreas Maurer his only title on the ATP World Tour. In 1988 he won in Nyon his second and last single title on the Challenger tour, he also won in this and in the following year for a further double titles on the Challenger Tour. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1987 with position 108 in singles and in 1989 with position 69 in doubles.

His best individual performance in a Grand Slam tournaments were two Erstrundenteilnahmen at Wimbledon. In doubles, he stood in 1981 in 1981 in the second round.

Since the end of his tennis career Windahl works as a tennis coach. He has been employed at Bastad Tennis Academy.
