José Antonio Villanueva

José Antonio Villanueva Trinidad ( born February 3, 1979 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish racing cyclist.

Until the mid- 2000s, José Antonio Villanueva was among the best track sprinters of Spain. Twice - in 2003 and 2006 - he was Spanish Champion in the sprint, 2003 also in the 1000 -m time trial.

In 2000 he finished third in team sprint for third place at the Track World Championships in Manchester, together with José Antonio Escuredo and Salvador Meliá; Four years later, at the Track World Championships in Melbourne trio was in the same occupation Vice World Champion. 2002 Villanueva was also vice-world champion in keirin. He also took numerous podium finishes in World Cup races.

Twice - in 2000 and 2004 - took Villanueva participate in the Olympics, his best finish was a sixth place in the sprint in Sydney in 2000.
