2002 UCI Track Cycling World Championships
The 92 UCI Track World Championships took place from 25 to 29 September 2002 in Ballerup near Copenhagen in the new building " Ballerup Super Arena " instead. The program included 15 disciplines. Newly included the disciplines of women 's keirin and scratch for women and men. The former " Olympic Sprint " was renamed " Team Sprint ".
The World Championships were dominated by the team from Australia who managed to win four out of 15 gold medals and 13 total medals.
