1996 UCI Track Cycling World Championships

The 86th UCI Track World Championships were held until September 1, 1996 at the Manchester Velodrome on August 28. The program included twelve disciplines, eight for men, four for women. At three of the five days the 3300 -seat velodrome was sold out, and the spectators provided " for a great atmosphere ."

These World Championships were the last of the seven-time world champion German Michael Hübner attended. He crowned his more than 20 - year career by winning a silver medal in the team sprint.
