Peter Schep

Pieter Otto Schepenbank ( born March 8, 1977 in Lopik ) is a former Dutch track and road racing cyclist.

Cycling career

Peter Schepenbank began in 2001 at the AXA Cycling Team. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, he was fifth in the team pursuit with the Dutch team and seventh in the points race. In 2005 he won at the track world championships in Los Angeles its first silver medal with Jens Mouris, Niki Terpstra and Levi Heiman in the team pursuit. At the next World Cup in Bordeaux was Schepenbank world champion in the points race. Peter Schepenbank drove regularly in the winter Six Days.

On the road, Peter Schepenbank won a stage of the Olympia's Tour for itself in 2000. In 2006 he won the Omloop van de Glazenstad.

In the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands won silver in Schepenbank two - team driving, along with Theo Bos. In the UEC derny European Championship 2011 in Montichiari he won the title behind pacemaker Joop Zijlaard.

End of the 2013 season Schepenbank Peter ended his cycling career. His last race was the Six Days in Amsterdam.

Peter Schepenbank lives together with the Dutch judoka Edith Bosch.
