Niki Terpstra

Niki Terpstra ( born May 18, 1984 in Beverwijk ) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Niki Terpstra started his professional career in 2003 and focused mainly on the track. In the UCI Track World Championships 2005 in Los Angeles, he got together with Levi Heiman, Jens Mouris and Peter Schepenbank the silver medal in the team pursuit. Overall, Terpstra was already ten times Dutch national champion.

In the Tour of Belgium 2006 Terpstra could enter on the fifth stage to Huy his first victory on the road. Since the 2007 season, he goes for the road cycling team Milram. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he should actually be used in the Dutch train of four. But on the way from the Olympic village to the Laoshan Velodrome he was unlucky to fall after his team-mate Robert Slippens had to dodge a car. In the fall, he broke both forearms.

2010 Niki Terpstra was the first time Dutch champion on the road.

  • Niki Terpstra and his girlfriend Ramona are parents of a son since August 2009.
