Bradley McGee

John Bradley McGee ( born February 24, 1976 in Sydney, Australia ) is an Australian former racing cyclist.

Bradley McGee's greatest successes as an amateur were the two gold medals at the Junior Track World Championships in 1993 and 1994. Since 1998, he was a professional racing driver at Française des Jeux. McGee was considered complete cyclist with Sprint qualities. As a train driver he had his strengths in the individual time trial. He won the prologue at the 2003 Tour de France and wore the yellow jersey for two days. Also, the Giro d'Italia 2004, he was victorious in the prologue, he defended the pink jersey two days.

Already at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta McGee had won two bronze medals ( One - and team pursuit ). In the Summer Games in Sydney in 2000 he won the individual pursuit also the bronze medal. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he won silver in the 4000 -m individual pursuit and gold in the team pursuit.

Also at the Commonwealth Games McGee was successful: In 1994, he won gold in the individual pursuit and in the team pursuit. In 1998, he was able to defend both titles. In 2002, he won gold in the individual pursuit.

2004 succeeded Bradley McGee overall victory in the Route du Sud. The following year he won the points classification in the Tour de Suisse in 2005 and contributed four days the golden jersey of the Vuelta a España in 2005. As a prologue specialist, he proved himself at the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré in 2002 and the Tour de Romandie 2004.

End of the 2008 season ended Bradley McGee his career and moved to the Sports Management Team Saxo Bank, where he remained until the end of 2012. Since the beginning of 2013 he has been head coach for the range cycling at the New South Wales Institute of Sport ( NSWIS ).
