Robert Charpentier

Robert Charpentier ( born April 14, 1916 in Issy -les -Moulineaux, Yvelines, † October 28, 1966 in Issy -les -Moulineaux ) was a French cyclist.

Charpentier was three time Olympic gold medalist in cycling at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. He won the individual road race and two team events.

After the Second World War Charpentier joined in 1948 both in the Tour de France as well as in Paris-Brest- Paris, but had to give up every time.

In June 2005, the local sports center was named after him in his home town of Issy.
