Bernd Dittert

Bernd Dittert ( born February 6, 1961 in Genthin ) is a former German rail and road cyclist who competed for East Germany.

Life

Bernd Dittert in the GDR was a member of SC Dynamo Berlin and drove since 1992 Hanoverian for the club cycling club in 1912. From 2000 to 2006 he was German national coach in track cycling (range endurance men) and from 2006 to 2011 road cycling national coach of the U23 class.

Success as an athlete

  • Olympic champion in the 100 - km - team driving in Barcelona in 1992
  • Olympia third in the 4000 -meter individual pursuit in 1988 in Seoul
  • World champion in the 4000 -m team pursuit at the Cycling World Championship 1980
  • Vice World Champion in the 4000 -m team pursuit at the 1983 and 1986 World Cycling Championships
  • East German champion in the 4000 -m team pursuit 1981 ( for SC Dynamo Berlin)
  • DDR - runner up in the 4000 -m team pursuit in 1980 and 1982 ( for SC Dynamo Berlin)
  • Third in the East German championship in the 4000 -m team pursuit 1985, 1986 and 1988

Success as a coach

  • World Champion 2000 in the 4000 -m team pursuit
  • Olympic champion in 2000 in the 4000 -m team pursuit
