Edi Ziegler

Edi Ziegler ( born February 25, 1930 in Schweinfurt ) is a retired German racing cyclist. In 1952, he won an Olympic bronze medal in the road race.

Edi Ziegler launched until 1956 for the RV 89 Schweinfurt. At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, he finished third behind the Belgians André Noyelle and Robert Grondelaers, in the team standings, he reached together with Oskar Zeissner and Paul Maue fifth place. 1953 won Ziegler at Deutsche road Amateur Championship. A total of seven times he was 1949-1956 with the crew of the RV 1889 Schweinfurt German champion in the team time trial. Also in 1953 won the Ernst Ziegler -Sachs Memorial Race, in 1956, he was able to repeat this success. Another victory succeeded in 1956 in the race Rund um Köln.
