Jan Schaffrath

January Schaffrath ( born September 17, 1971 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist and sports director.

Career

The 1.87 m wide Schaffrath 1997 Professional and then drove for eight years, until 2005, for the T -Mobile team. During this time he stepped up to three times at the Vuelta a España, the Giro d'Italia twice and once in the Tour de France. Schaffrath was considered typical Sociable and important aid of his friend and former teammate Erik Zabel.

After the 2005 Seasonal Information Jan Schaffrath ended his active career and was on 1 January 2006 sports director at Team Milram. After only one year, he returned to his old cycling team, where he worked until the dissolution of the team in 2011. He then joined together with a few riders along the Belgian team Omega Pharma- Quick-Step.

Schaffrath also runs the elite selection of German Cyclists at Road World Championships and Olympic Games.
