Michael McCarthy (cyclist)

Michael " Mike" McCarthy ( born June 26, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York ) is a former American professional cyclist.

In 1986, Mike McCarthy national junior road champion. In the UCI Track World Championships in 1990 in Maebashi, he finished in the individual pursuit of amateurs 3rd place; two years later he was in Valencia world champion in this discipline. Twice - 1988 and 1996 - McCarthy took as a member of the U.S. track quad at the Olympics in part, without medal success.

During his time as a professional racing driver McCarthy drove many smaller road races he won, including the " New York City Championship" (1994, 1997), the "Tour of Christiana " (1994) and the " Bermuda Grand Prix" (1998 ).
