José Azevedo

José Azevedo ( born September 19, 1973 in Vila do Conde, Portugal ) is a former Portuguese professional cyclist. He works as a sports director at Team RadioShack. In the sixth Tour de France victory, Lance Armstrong 2004, he was its most important helpers in the mountain stages. At the Tour de France he has been able to gain two stage victories in the team time trial in 2004 and 2005.

His previous positions as a professional were the teams Maia (1996-2000), ONCE - Eroski (2001-2003), U.S. Postal (2004) and Discovery Channel (2005-2006). To be able to spend more time with his family, Azevedo joined the 2007 season to the domestic Professional Continental team Benfica. On 24 August 2008, he finished his career after the Tour of Portugal.
