José Calado

José António Calado da Silva (* March 1, 1974 in Lisbon ) is a former Portuguese footballer, who played most recently at the Cypriot club AE Paphos.

Career

José António Calado began his career in 1991 at the Casa Pia AC. Only a year later, he got an offer from a bigger club, from CF Estrela Amadora, which he immediately accepted. There he played a total of three years, until he moved to the Portuguese top club Benfica Lisbon 1995.

In the summer of 2001, he moved along with his teammate João Tomás in the Liga BBVA Betis Sevilla. But both were relatively rarely. Therefore Calado made ​​in the first two seasons only 20 games. In the 2003/2004 season he was loaned to Deportivo Poli Ejido. The loan period was two years. After the loan period, he was sold to Ejido. He was the greatest part in the 2006/2007 season by an injury is not involved. In four years at Poli Ejido Deportivo he made a total of 100 games and scored 15 goals. In the 2007/2008 season he moved to Cypriot club APOP Kinyras Peyias, where he played most of the season. After only a year he switched to AE Paphos.
