José Nicomedes Grossi

José Nicomedes Grossi ( born September 15, 1915 in Cipotânea, Brazil, † June 21, 2009 in Juiz de Fora, Brazil) was Bishop of Bom Jesus da Lapa.

Life

José Nicomedes Grossi studied from 1935 to 1940 philosophy and Catholic theology in the Seminary of St. Joseph in Mariana ( Minas Gerais ). On September 21, 1940 he was ordained priest. He then worked as a missionary priest in Carinhanha.

On August 28, 1963, he was called by Pope Paul VI. da Lapa appointed bishop of Bom Jesus. The Bishop of Pouso Alegre, José d' Angelo Neto, gave him on 25 January 1964, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were José Eugenio Correa, Bishop of Caratinga, and José Campos Costa, Bishop of Valença. His motto was " Respice Stella" (Eighth on the stars).

On March 15, 1990 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
