José Urruzmendi

José Urruzmendi, full name Jose Eusebio Urruzmendi, ( born August 25, 1944) is a former Uruguayan football player.

Association

Forward Urruzmendi belonged from 1961 to 1967 the Squad from Nacional Montevideo in La Liga on. During this period he completed a total of 127 appearances for the Bolsos, in which he scored 51 goals. With the Montevideanern he closed the seasons 1963 and 1966 from each of the Uruguayan master. 1964, participation in the finals of the Copa Campeones de América for him to book, in which the Argentine Nacional Independiente representatives ultimately had to leave the trophy. Urruzmendi came in two finals for use. In 1967 he came with the Bolsos again until the playoffs to this, now renamed Copa Libertadores competition. National

Urruzmendi was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay, for which he completed 21 international matches between the May 2, 1965 and July 1, 1967. He scored eight international goals. Urruzmendi also participated in the 1966 World Cup with Uruguay. Coach Ondino Viera attacked but in the course of the tournament does not return to its services. Urruzmendi finally also belonged to Juan Carlos Corazzo selected squad of Uruguay to the South American Championship 1967, which decided the Celeste in their favor.
