Josefine Dora

Josefine Dora ( born November 13, 1867 and 1868 in Vienna, † May 28 1944 in Kühlungsborn; native Isidora Emilie Friese ) was an Austrian actress.

Life

The daughter of actor Carl Adolf Friese stood on 6 January 1870 in the play The pediatrician at the Theater an der Wien for the first time on stage. On her father's side she was a child actress who also appeared in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

1881 she received a firm commitment at the Theater an der Wien. Josefine Dora made ​​at that time known as a soubrette and toured until 1885 in the USA. After that, they played at the Berlin Central-Theater, where she was mainly seen in operettas such as The Gypsy Baron, The Beggar Student, Gasparone, The Bat and The Bird Seller. Later, guest-starring in the theater led her to Bremen, London and Prague.

The actress was in a number of films before the camera, mostly in smaller roles since 1913. Until shortly before her death, she embodied quirky old ladies here.
