Josh Wagenaar

Joshua Frederick ' Josh ' Wagenaar (born 26 February 1985 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a former Canadian soccer goalkeeper and current goalkeeping coach.

Club career

Wagenaar, who also has a Dutch passport, signed in the spring of 2006, in the Dutch first division club ADO Den Haag. He played the first few months or for the amateur team in the summer of 2006, he moved into the senior squad on. In his first season as a professional, he came to five appearances and was on the way down a set of five goalkeepers. After another half year in the second division in which he did not play, he left the club. In April 2008, he signed a contract with the Danish first division club Lyngby BK - in which he was already in the winter break on trial - as a substitute keeper behind Rune Pedersen and representation for the injured Thomas Seidelin. During the summer break of 2008 Wagenaar sample training completed in the English third division side Leeds United and Yeovil Town Yeovil and finally received in a one-year contract. National

Wagenaar participated with the Canadian U -20 team at the Junior World Championships in 2005 in the Netherlands and graduated from the Vorrundenaus all three games. Two years earlier, he was also at the Junior World Championships in 2003 in the squad, but remained behind Alim Karim at surprising quarter-finals without use.

Back in 2005, Wagenaar was first appointed to the Canadian national team, his international debut was in November 2006 in a friendly against Hungary.

In March 2008, he played with the Olympic team (U -23), the qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but by a 0-3 defeat in the semifinals you missed the final and the qualifications associated with it.

Three years after its debut in the national team, he was in the scope of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 for 45 minutes in the match against Guatemala on the field.

Coaching career

After the end of his career, he went to Graceland University in August 2010 and was coach of the women's and men 's soccer team Yellowjackets. He held the job as goalkeeper coach of the Graceland Yellowjackets three years before he co - coach of the women went to the Louisiana Tech University in the summer of 2013.
