Josimar

Josimar Higino Pereira known as Josimar ( born September 19, 1961 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian footballer. He played at right back for, inter alia, Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas for and Brazil.

International career

For Brazil Josimar played between June 1986 and November 1989 16 times. Three times he was used in Mexico at the Soccer World Cup 1986, where he delivered a good performance. Josimar stepped in for the injured regulars Édson. Josimar scored two goals against Northern Ireland and Poland, 1-0 against France, he prepared.

After the active time

He is currently assistant coach at Botafogo.

Private

Josimars son, Josimar Jr. played for the youth team Botafogo. The end of 2006 he went to the sports club Cruzeiro and later to the club Vasco da Gama.
