József Csatári

József Csatári [ jo ː ri ː ʒɛf tʃɒta ] ( born December 17, 1943 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian wrestler.

Career

József Csatári began in 1958 at Kinizsi Husos with the rings. Through diligent training, he won the Hungarian championship already in the youth and junior level. In 1965, he was therefore delegated to Ferencvaros Budapest. There Andor Mango was his coach. In 1963, he was only 20 years old, already used for the first time at an international championship. He wrestled in both the Greco-Roman, as well as in free style. In the free style in the light heavyweight and heavyweight class, Greco-Roman style mostly in the super heavyweight class. He won a total of six medals, including two Olympic bronze medals (1968 and 1972) and still achieved many good results.

After ending his career as an active wrestler, he studied at a pilot plant and from 1976 was active in the leadership of the United Association Honvéd Budapest.
