Juan Bustillo Oro

Juan Bustillo Oro ( born June 2, 1904 in Mexico City, † June 10, 1989 in Mexico City) was a Mexican film director, editor, screenwriter and film producer. He participated in the early phase and in the Golden Age of Mexican film.

Life

Juan Bustillo Oro studied law, literature, drama and journalism. He was a follower of José Vasconcelos. Earlier in his career he wrote plays, he founded together with Mauricio Magdaleno own theater. Then he switched to film. 1927 Oro had his debut with the silent film Yo soy tu padre, in which he still strongly drew on conventions of theater. As a result, he declined the offer to film a theater piece, so that the film Tiburón was realized in 1933 by Ramón Peon.
