Juan Lacaze is a city in the south of Uruguay.

Geography

The city is located in the area of ​​Colonia Department in its sector 14 Juan Lacaze is located on the coast of the Río de la Plata to the east of the city of Colonia del Sacramento and southwest of Colonia Cosmopolita. The distance to the eastern state capital Montevideo is almost 150 km. The Port of Juan Lacaze is located near the mouth of the Arroyo sauce. A few kilometers east of the city lies the estuary of Río Rosario. Through the city also runs the Bach Cañada de Blanco.

History

On May 8, 1953 by Juan Lacaze, the legal regulation of Ley 11.934 in the status of a Ciudad (City) has been charged. The city's name is attributed to Juan Luis Lacaze.
