History

The double album Judy at Carnegie Hall is one of the legendary live albums of American show business. Judy Garland celebrated on April 23, 1961 in New York's Carnegie Hall one of its numerous comebacks after health problems. Published by Capitol already on July 10, 1961 Album documented a show that one of the biggest nights in the history of show business. The album was 73 weeks long in the Billboard charts for 13 weeks of it on the top position. At the Grammy Awards ceremony in 1962, it was awarded five prizes: Among the awards as album of the year for the singer of the year, the best technical recording and for Best Album Cover came a special price for the producer of the album.

However, the double album of 1961 contained numerous cuts in Garland's monologues as well as some changes to the original song order; also one of the songs ( Alone Together ) was replaced by a studio recording with hinzugemischtem applause, because the concert recording of the piece contained technical errors.
