Juho Jaakonaho

John " Juho " Jaakonaho ( born September 1, 1882 in Haapajärvi; † January 21, 1964 ) was a Finnish racing driver.

Juho Jaakonaho was by profession a farmer and Skischreiner. He operated cycling and skiing. He rode from 1910 to 1931 cycle race and was at that time the dominant cyclist of his country. He was 22 - times Finnish champion, on the road - in the road race as in the individual time trial - as well as on the track in the Sprint and Scratch. His last national title he won in 1931 at the age of 49 years. He also presented on ten national records.

1912 started Jaakonaha at the Olympic Games in Stockholm. But the Olympic road race around Lake Mälaren he could not finish because of a defect in his wheel. This depressed him so much that he followed for several years drove no races.

Juho Jaakonaha was a farmer, a renowned Skischreiner and also drove himself successfully ski. He was also known for his extraordinary physical strength; age of 18 he picked up a load of 136 kilograms and a few years later, he wore four men on his shoulders. For the ski company Lampinen he presented during his life produces approximately 40,000 pairs of skis. From him produced skis and wheels and trophies from him are exhibited in the museum in his hometown Haapajärvi.
