Julie Kavner

Julie Deborah Kavner ( born September 7, 1950 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Brenda Morgenstern in the television series Rhoda ( 1974-78 ) and as the voice of Marge Simpson in the cartoon series The Simpsons ( since 1989).

Biography

Kavner was born in Los Angeles ( California ) and grew up in Southern California. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and studied theater arts at San Diego State University, where she passed with distinction.

Following the series Rhoda she appeared in several films of Woody Allen: Radio Days (along with Michael Tucker, Mia Farrow, and Dianne Wiest ); New York Stories ( Woody Allen); Alice (again with Farrow ); Hannah and Her Sisters ( with Michael Caine ), and Deconstructing Harry ( with Richard Benjamin and Julia Louis -Dreyfus ).

In The Simpsons Kavner is the voice of Marge Simpson, Patty Bouvier, Selma Bouvier, Jacqueline Bouvier and Gladys Bouvier. Marge speaks an octave higher, Selma and Patty an octave lower and some smoky. It counts in this context, with an income of $ 400,000 per episode among the highest paid people in the U.S. TV business.

In the movie Click with Adam Sandler, she played the mother. In repeatedly nominated film Awakenings she starred opposite Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
