Julie Lynn Holmes

Julie Lynn Holmes ( born March 23, 1951 in North Hollywood, California ) is a former American figure skater who started in a single run.

At the national championships was Holmes, who was only trained by Nancy Rush and Carlo Fassi, always in the shadow of Janet Lynn. From 1969 to 1972 she was runner-up behind her. At the World Championships, however, they could always beat Lynn. Holmes was a strong obligation figure skater, while Lynn had their strength in the freestyle. 1969 played Holmes in the home Colorado Springs for their first World Cup and finished it in fourth place. In their next World Cup, in 1970 in Ljubljana, she won bronze behind Gabriele Seyfert and Beatrix Schuba already their first medal. Her biggest success but she celebrated a year later in Lyon, in their third and final World Cup. Following the resignation of Gaby Seyfert she was there behind Beatrix Schuba Vice World Champion. Your only Olympics they finished 1972 in Sapporo in fourth place.

After the Olympics, she ended her amateur career and toured with Ice Capades of figure skating revue. Later she also worked part-time as a trainer.
