Junge Roemer

Young Roemer is the second studio album by the Austrian musician Falco. It was produced by Robert Ponger, who had been involved solitary confinement already on the previous album.

Background

Falco After his international success with the album solitary confinement and of which the decoupled Single Commissioner in the years 1982 and 1983, decided the same in the following year to produce his second album and publish the same also.

The album itself and the individual tracks it were hochbejubelt by critics because Falco, appeared a new door of his genre bandwidth with pop and rock music that was heavily influenced by funk.

Two weeks after the album was released, you could record a success with a number 1 in Austria. A month later came the eponymous single, which in turn even made in Spain at # 2 in the Netherlands on 15 and Switzerland on the 24th place in the ranking list.

For Falco this album was a commercial flop, while the reception among music critics largely turned out well. Years later told Falco that he would publish a book instead of an album should, because the texts were, in turn, of high quality.

Others

Some tracks on the album were commissioned by the ORF of DoRo for the one-hour film contribution Falco - implemented visually heroes of today. After his death appeared a book which was never named after one is present on the album song high.
