Wiener Blut (Album)

Vienna Blood is the fifth studio album by the Austrian singer Falco. It was published in 1988. The title is the same operetta Wiener Blut borrowed.

Prehistory

Falco, who came from Vienna and in 1987 after the exhausting tour of Japan physically and mentally was in a bad shape and made musical little talked about, retreated to the result largely from the public gaze. Before the end of the year, he released the single Body Next to Body with Brigitte Nielsen. She was very successful. In March 1988, his new album, which originally was called Aya (the last three letters of the title track Himalayas ), done. But Falco in his perfectionism as well as the record company Teldec were dissatisfied with the result, and so a lot of the songs already finished produced was discarded.

Production and background

Falco wanted the album initially import with some other producers, but then returned but to the brothers Bolland & Bolland back, with whom he produced six of the eleven tracks. Four other tracks were produced by Mende and Derouge, a title produced Falco with Mal Luker.

The album, which was now called Wiener Blut, the end of summer 1988 came out. It abolished in Austria # 2 on the charts in Germany only 9th place and 12th place in Switzerland

The track Viennese blood had been added to the Falco 3 sessions, but was still called medicine and had a different text. The song Garbo is dedicated to the Swedish film actress Greta Garbo.

The single Wiener Blut was represented in all German speaking countries of Europe in the charts, while the second single Satellite To Satellite is largely no longer make it into the charts, but the last single was that even in a country outside Europe (Japan) to Falco's lifetime came into the charts.

It is also believed that this album is therefore no longer came up to the previous albums, because it ( by three other producers produced half an album of the Bolland brothers and the rest) was not as uniform as a conglomerate of different producers through the different styles and therefore the context of the songs was much less given.

Falco dedicated the album Emotional after his supposed daughter Katharina Bianca and Justin Dylan.
