Junior Mendes

Junior Mendes ( born September 15, 1976 in Balham, Greater London) is a born in England footballer who was active for the national team of Montserrat.

Club career

Mendes played in his youth at Chelsea and signed a professional contract there in 1995. Without an insert in the first team, he was released in April 1996 his contract and joined the Scottish second division side FC St. Mirren. In four years at St. Mirren, he completed 120 league games and scored 21 hits. After Erstligaaufstieg of the club in 2000, he spent 20,000 pounds to league rivals and Mitaufsteiger Dunfermline Athletic, but there was not cope and returned after two years and only 13 league appearances for half a year to St. Mirren.

In January 2003, he moved to the English third division side Mansfield Town, for which he was active in the fourth division after relegation for another season. The direct re-emergence was pipped after Mansfield lost the play-off finals Huddersfield Town on penalties, the club that the Mendes joined the following season. In Huddersfield, he played in his second season hardly a role and was first awarded to Northampton Town and later at Grimsby Town before his contract expired in the summer of 2006 and he moved free transfer to Notts County. Also at Notts County his hit rate remained patchy and he came often only by Substitutes used after a loan period at end of season at Lincoln City, he again received a contract with his previous employer.

Mendes was subsequently six months without a club in February 2008 and received an offer from ambitious fifth-tier Aldershot Town, with whom he achieved promotion to the Football League Two to the end of the season. Also in Aldershot its operating time was limited, in April 2009, he was finally awarded for the remainder of the season at Stevenage Borough before his end of the season expiring contract was not renewed.

National

2004 Mendes played for the national team of Montserrat in two qualifying matches of the football Caribbean Cup 2005. During the 4:5 defeat to Antigua him there succeeded a hit.
