Justus Georg Schottel

Justus Georg Schottelius ( Latinized from Schottel; * June 23, 1612 in Einbeck, † October 25, 1676 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German poet and linguist of the Baroque period.

Life

Justus George was the son of Lutheran pastor John Schottelius in Einbeck and his wife Margaret, a daughter of the businessman Hans Ilse. Since 1618, he attended the School Council to Einbeck. After the death of his father in 1626, he began a craftsman or shopkeeper doctrine he broke off after a short time.
