Kagawa Prefecture

The Kagawa Prefecture (Japanese香 川 県, Kagawa-ken ) is a prefecture of Japan and is located adjacent to the Japanese island of Shikoku, in the Seto Inland Sea. She went in 1871 from the province of Sanuki forth. Seat of the prefectural government is Takamatsu.

Governor of Kagawa since 2010 Keizo Hamada, who was elected with the support of the major parties to succeed Takeki Manabe. The Parliament was last elected in the uniform regional elections in April 2011, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP ) won with 27 of 41 seats a clear absolute majority.

In the national parliament Kagawa is represented by three directly elected deputies in Shūgiin, after the election of 2012, two Liberal Democrats and the only Democrat from the 13 constituencies on Shikoku. Ins Sangiin the prefecture selects one delegate per sub -dial, most recently in 2010 and 2013 Liberal Democrats.
