The main drift -Klause

The Emperor Bach or Sparchenbach is a river in Emperor of the Kaiser mountains in the Tyrol (Austria). It rises to about 1400 m above sea level. A. when Stripsenjoch and ends at Kufstein / Sparchen into the Inn.

The Emperor Bach was important for the forestry until the early 20th century. Felled logs were drawn from numerous forest slopes in the side valleys of Kaisertal down to the creek. At several barrages of Kaiserbach was dammed. During the subsequent opening of the weirs a strong current, with the accumulated logs could be transported in several stages to Kufstein was down.

The barrages were called Klausen and transport of timber drift. Today only the main drift -Klause restored as a reservoir on the stream bed, and the associated Klaus cottage that once served as guest workers receive.
