Kalamari (band)

Calamari is a Slovenian rock band founded in 1993.

History

The band was founded by singer and guitarist Jože Jež Pepi Matjaž Švagelj 1993. Currently Bostjan Tršar and Egon Princic complete the band.

The first album was released in 1995 and is called Dobra Vila ( dt: Beautiful fairy tale ). Two years later, with S Tabo Držim ( dt: I 'm on your side) their second album, with dermdie band could achieve national prominence.

The most famous song of the band is V vetru rdečih zastav ( dt: Red flags in the wind ). With this song the band performed in 1999 at the Slovenian Pop Song Festival, where the band was second. The text even received the first place.

Overall, the band has released 7 albums.

Bostjan Tršar and Egon Princic were not allowed to participate in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010, as the band played together with the folk music group Roka Žlindre and allowed a total of only 6 people a acts on stage.

The combo difference with their song Narodnozabavni skirt however already in the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest.
