Kamenica (Valjevo)

Kamenica (Serbian Cyrillic: Каменица ) is a village in western Serbia. The village is often referred to Valjevska Kamenica. This refers to the nearby town of Valjevo, since, a number of cities with the name of Kamenica in Serbia.

The village lies in the Opština Valjevo, Kolubara in the Okrug. Kamenica had in the census 2002 1005 inhabitants, while it is still 1131 inhabitants in 1991. After the last three population statistics, the population continues to fall. The population is made up of Orthodox Serbs. Kamenica consists of 363 households. The village is by the river Kamenica.

Opština Kamenica

By 1965, this village was the seat of Opština Kamenica. This community consisted of the villages: Beomužević, Bobova, Gornja Bukovica, Kamenica, Majinović, Miličinica, Oglađenovac, Osladić, Pričević, Sitarice, Stanina Reka, Stapar, Suvodanje, Tupanci, Vlaščić and Vragočanica. With resolution of the community, is the whole area of the former municipality of Kamenica, become a part of the municipality of Valjevo.
